Veliko and Malo Rujno are karst plateaus (900m/asl) which make the most widespread and flatest Velebit terrace which is 7 km long and 1 km wide. The entire area of Rujno is highlight by ascending to the top called Bojinac (1110 m/asl), one of the most beautiful rocky landscapes in Croatia, and the view from Bojin kuk (in Cro. “hip”) is one of the most beautiful ones in the South Velebit.
The legend tells how a girl named Boja threw herself off this “hip” because of an unrequited love because of whom this “hip” got its name after. Upon arrival at the top we have a well – deserved break with stunning view of coast and islands.
